Currently, in the Indonesian market, the tablet
with the Android operating system in 7-inch screen size still
dominates. Most of these tablets originated in India and China.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of them still using low-speed processor.
In addition, there are tablets with a processor speed of 1 GHz but
doesn’t have optimal performance.
This time, Huawei released a tablet that called Huawei Ideos S7 Slim. Perhaps you’ve also heard the same name but have different forms. In the sample we got, the tablet has a serial number S7-201u. Huawei Ideos S7 Slim 201u has a home screen that is quite unique. It looks like this tablet is using Honeycomb operating system.

Adreno 200. Memory that installed is 512 MB. For internal memory, it is
divided into two, namely the internal tablets and 3 GB of storage for
internal SD card for 4.66 GB. In addition, you can add your own SD card
in the slot that is already available. Then how is the operating system
of the tablets on this one?
Operating System: (Still) Android Froyo
As the picture above, Huawei Ideos S7 201u Slim still uses the Android operating system version 2.2.2 Froyo. This operating system is certainly better than Android Eclair, but very unfortunate because these tablets should be optimized again if the Android operating system could be paired Gingerbread. But in daily use should not be any significant problems, because application that available is still support the Android version 2.2.2.
Froyo operating system is already in the “makeovers” its home screen by Huawei. Glance at the sight, you might think that the Android operating system is Honeycomb. However, the home screen looks “pretty” and have the impression Honeycomb. There are five home screen that made by Huawei on this tablet, as below.
For menu button, you can press the menu soft button on the bottom right side, next to the Favorites soft button.
Orientation menu at Huawei Ideos S7 Slim only exist in Landscape mode. One convenience that lost is on the theme made by Huawei is the taskbar that usually slide from the top can become dysfunctional. Therefore, you must return to the main menu and press soft button that exist in the upper right. Uniquely, the taskbar is also becoming one with the task manager, so you can simply turn off the applications are still running on-background.
One thing should be notice is you can’t install the third-party launcher. When we install one launcher, the tablet is losing its touchscreen capabilities and we must restore this tablet to Huawei. Huawei-made launcher itself is already beautiful and has a better function, but when users get bored on the launcher, the choice is to replace the wallpaper.
